When young people grow to understand that every part of the global human culture was ultimately decided by people just like themselves, that is the moment that they understand that together they can chose to do things differently.
When I was a child I remember warnings amongst the adults that we would run the world one day. That time is quickly emerging, but we must remember all the same that we too will find ourselves judged by our children.
Can we foresee our own failings? Can we meet our elders with understanding and respect? Can we nurture our children to become great people? Can we heal this damaged world that we have inherited, without damaging it in different ways?
These are rhetorical questions we should all ponder as we shape our decisions and move forward with our lives as part of this world. Tomorrow is inevitable, but what becomes of it depends on the choices that we make today.
